Administrivia: RSS and Google Analytics

Apr 26, 2015     Tags: meta

This will be a short post.

I recently added both an RSS feed and Google Analytics to xorl %eax, %eax, having initially removed them from the site’s Jekyll theme and base.

Removing them initially was partially a matter of ignorance (I had never used RSS before), and partially a concern for privacy (I didn’t know whether Google could use data from the site to its own devices).

Now that I understand both better, both have been enabled. The site’s RSS feed is now online, and Google analytics have been enabled on every page under the blog subdomain (the main domain will remain untracked).

In an effort to be as transparent as possible, I am researching ways to share the analytics data I receive from Google. It’ll probably end up being a flat directory of PDFs.
